Gor%C5%8D Miyazaki


Gor Miyazaki is a Japanese film director and landscaper. He is the son of animator Hayao Miyazaki, cofounder of Studio Ghibli. Described as reluctant to follow his fathers career, Gor initially worked as a landscaper for many years before entering the film business. He has directed two films, Tales from Earthsea and From Up on Poppy Hill .

Miyazaki was born to animators Hayao Miyazaki and Akemi ta in Tokyo. While growing up, Gor and his younger brother Keisuke found sketches of their parents work. As a high school student, Gor thought that he would never be able to reach the level has attained. Gor instead decided to pursue an interest in landscape agriculture. After graduating from Shinshu Universitys School of Agriculture, Gor later worked as a construction consultant in the planning and designing of parks and gardens. In 1998, Gor was involved in the design of the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, and from 2001 to June 2005 served as its director.
